▣ Cochran no-show at Neshoba County Fair

Thad Cochran pulled a no-show at the Neshoba County Fair on July 30, 2008. Cochran was scheduled to speak right after Erik Fleming at 11 am on a day where it looked like all four U.S. Senate candidates would be at the same venue for the first time this campaign season. Ronnie Musgrove and Roger Wicker did speak.

Cochran instead sent a letter of apology to the Neshoba County Fair Committee expressing his regret for not being able to come at his appointed time.

Cochran did the same thing earlier in the year when three of the four candidates spoke at the Jacinto Festival on July 4th, but he was a no-show, opting to speak in Pontotoc instead.

Why is Cochran dodging Erik Fleming? Surely he has nothing to be afraid of?
