On March 6, while I was working to secure the Democratic nomination, Thad Cochran was one of thirteen senators voting against H.R. 4040 (amended by S. 2663), a bi-partisan bill which increased consumer protection in the United States.

The bill, sparked by the recent scare of toxic toys from China hitting the market around Chirstmas last year, will reform the Consumer Product Safety Commission to provide greater protection for children's products, improve the screening of noncompliant consumer products, improve the effectiveness of consumer product recall programs, and provide whistleblower protection for employees that report faulty products.
